When we enter a website, we search for it by typing certain names. These specific names are called Domain Names. This domain name is the lifeblood of a website or blog.
A domain name is an identity through which a blog or website can be accessed. For example, to access Google's main website, its domain name is Google.Com
But many of us do not know what this Domain Name is? And what are the types of domains and what are they? That's why today we will learn more about domains through this article and we will discuss in detail how many types of domains there are.
What is a domain name?
In fact, this domain name is the original address of a website. In the same way, the specific address of a website or blog site is called Domain in the language of the Internet. Now, understood what this domain is actually.
If we ever search the internet by typing a specific word without entering the name directly, many websites come up. The identity of all these websites, that is, the URL that leads to the main page is a URL which we call the domain name of that website.
Hopefully the idea about domain name is clear now We will see how many types of domain names there are.
How many types of domain names and what are they?
If you take a look, you will see that when you search for something on the internet, thousands of websites appear in front of us. If you look closely at the search results that come to our web page, you will see that there are many types of URL addresses, that is, Domain Name.
In order to make this point better, if you say, sometimes you will notice that the address of any website is Blogspot.com, sometimes it is Google.com, sometimes it is Google.bd, sometimes it is Google.us, etc.
Domain These extensions are different types of domains, so let's learn more about different types of domains.
Top Level Domain (TLD)
The name implies that the value of such domain names is a little higher. And the main reason why they are so expensive is because of the fact that all these domain names in the search engines like - Google, Bing, etc. are very early in the first place, this is why such domain names are called top level domains (TLD).
There are various top level domains, such as - .COM, .EDU, .ORG, .GOV, etc. Websites with such a domain name are at the top of the search results when searching for any subject, so all the domains that are associated with this extension called top level domains, such as - Google.com.
Country Code Top Level Domain (CCTLD)
Hopefully from the name you understand that country code is associated with such top level domains, although I have given examples of this before. There are many more examples of top level domains with country code.
Such domain names are assigned separately for each country. Not all of this evidence is shown in any country other than that country.
All these country code coded (CCTLD) domain names are more important in the search results of that country like - dot in india is more important, again .bd domain is more important in Bangladesh and .uk is more important in United Kingdom.
Second Level Domain (SLD)
The second level domain is the main part of the top level domain which is what we take as the name. To better understand, note that the domain name of our website is listworld360.blogspot.com. Here listworld360 is the second level domain (SLD).
Hopefully you understand about Second Level Domain (SLD) that the original name we choose for our website or blog site is a second level domain, which we use in conjunction with Top Level Domain (TLD).
Third Level Domain (Sub Domain)
Domains that are added before third level domains or second level domains, in simpler terms we know as subdomains. For example, our website (listworld360.blogspot.com) has a subdomain.
We can create sub-level websites for free. And we sometimes create a free website from Wordpress.com or Blogger.com without purchasing a domain.
If you take a look, you will see that the URL or domain name of our website is like this, for example: listworld360.blogspot.com. Such websites do not require money to create, but their ranking power is very low. So these are called third level domains or subdomains.
